Traumatic brain injury in the prodromal period of Parkinson's disease: A large epidemiological study using Medicare data

Camacho-Soto A, et al. - The time-to-traumatic brain injury (TBI) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients in their prodromal period compared to population-based controls was investigated. In the prodromal period of PD, a strong association was found between PD and a recent TBI. As PD diagnosis approached, this association strengthened and could be a result of undetected non-motor and motor symptoms. However, advanced studies were required to confirm the findings.
