Transvertebral bone graft and augmentation vs posterior spinal instrumentation in the treatment of simple thoracolumbar compression fractures
World Neurosurgery Feb 21, 2018
Hou Y, et al. - Researchers performed this retrospective cohort study to ascertain the clinical efficacy of transvertebral bone graft and augmentation (TBGA) in comparison to the pedicle screw fixation (PSF) for simple thoracolumbar compression fractures (TLCF). Findings suggested that in treatment of simple TLCF, TBGA could achieve satisfactory clinical effects, and involved shorter operative time, less blood loss, lower radiological adjacent segment pathology and complication rates. TBGA could be more suitable for the surgical treatment of simple TLCF.
