Transoral robotic resection of benign tumours of the upper aerodigestive tract: Experience of the French group of GETTEC

Chabrillac E, et al. - Authors evaluated the current use of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) in benign tumours of the upper aerodigestive tract through a case series and a literature review. Findings suggested that few complications were caused by this technique and it resulted in short hospitalization, with satisfactory functional and recurrence outcomes. Nonetheless, consideration of the risk of bleeding and oedema was recommended, and the need for a tracheostomy ought to be approached wisely. During the 2-year follow-up, no recurrences were observed.
