Transforaminal en bloc resection for the treatment of thoracic ossification of the ligamentum flavum: Retrospective cohort study
International Journal of Surgery Feb 23, 2018
Wang CH, et al. - Researchers here introduced transforaminal en bloc resection for the treatment of thoracic ossification of ligamentum flavum, and reported outcomes of the procedure. This procedure was designed to remove the ossified ligamentum flavum. It allowed removal of thoracic ossification via a posterior approach. The non-space-occupying procedure decreased manipulation of spinal cord and injury potential. This study thereby demonstrated that transforaminal en bloc resection was a safe and effective method for the treatment of the aforementioned condition.
