Transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation: 2 years follow-up outcomes in the management of anticholinergic refractory overactive bladder

World Journal of Urology Apr 12, 2018

Leroux PA, et al. - Authors sought to assess the long-term use, effectiveness and tolerability of transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) in the treatment of refractory overactive bladder (OAB). As per findings, for patients with resistant OAB, the utility of TTNS as a treatment option was seen. Mostly because of a decreased effectiveness with time, few patients continued with therapy in the long-term use. A lack of sufficient symptom relief for 70% patients, compliance difficulty for 6% patients and becoming asymptomatic for 8% patients were the reasons for discontinuation of the therapy.
