Transcranial magnetic stimulation distinguishes Alzheimer's disease from frontotemporal dementia
Neurology® Aug 12, 2017
Benussi A, et al. – Aim of this study is to ascertain whether a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) multiparadigm approach can be used to distinguish Alzheimer's disease (AD) from frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The authors conclude that TMS is a noninvasive procedure that reliably differentiates AD from FTD and healthy controls (HC). If these findings are replicated in larger studies, can represent a useful additional diagnostic tool for clinical practice.
