Hakeem A, et al. - This study was performed to analyze the data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing percutaneous patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure to medical therapy alone for secondary prevention of ischemic stroke. As per the findings, percutaneous PFO closure afforded safe and effective secondary prevention of ischemic stroke in patients with PFO and cryptogenic stroke.
