Transbronchial lung biopsy for the diagnosis of IgG4-related lung disease

Otani K, et al. - During this study, researchers investigated how useful transbronchial lung biopsies (TBLBs) were for the diagnosis of IgG4-related lung disease subjects in who underwent TBLBs for potential pulmonary involvement. The yielded histological findings were supportive for the diagnosis of IgG4-RD using TBLBs in 47% of cases, displaying a 98% diagnostic specificity. Hence, TBLBs exhibited potential as a beneficial and acceptable diagnostic approach for IgG4-related lung disease.
