Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) with platinum vs anthracyclines for hepatocellular carcinoma: A meta-analysis

Zhao M, et al. - A meta-analysis was conducted to determine the clinical efficacy of TACE with platinum versus anthracyclines was analyzed for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Analysis of 4 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and 7 observational studies involving 1405 patients revealed no significant difference between platinum and anthracyclines with respect to therapeutic response, adverse events, and overall survival rate. In addition, Egger's test indicated bias in pooled estimation of survival rate among RCTs.
