The International Journal of Artificial Organs Oct 06, 2017
Tchoukalova YD, et al. - The goal of this inquiry was to compare different decellularization protocols with the conventional detergent enzymatic method (DEM) using continuous agitation. Findings revealed that only 4 cycles of DEM afforded efficient decellularization, compared to the 17 cycles previously reported. Furthermore, it was observed that integrity of the extracellular matrix could be preserved by using a bioreactor.
