Gutzler L, et al. – The authors performed this systematic review to examine the literature on paediatric toxic shock syndrome (TSS) after burns or scalds, and describe their experience with this condition in Switzerland. In Switzerland and several other countries world–wide, toxic shock syndrome was an important complication of paediatric burns. Diagnosis and management remained challenging. Among treating clinicians, awareness was crucial for a favourable outcome.
