Total nut, tree nut, peanut, and peanut butter intake and the risk of prostate cancer in the Netherlands Cohort Study
Prostate Cancer & Prostatic Diseases Jan 31, 2019
Boudewijns EA, et al. - In the Netherlands Cohort Study, researchers prospectively studied the association of total nut, tree nut, peanut, and peanut butter consumption with the risk of total, advanced, and non-advanced prostate cancer. Study participants included 58,279 men aged 55–69 years at baseline. Overall, the investigators did not identify any significant associations of total nut, tree nut, and peanut consumption with total, advanced, and non-advanced prostate cancer. They did, however, note an increased non-advanced prostate cancer risk in possible correlation with peanut butter intake.
