Total cholesterol and stroke mortality in middle-aged and elderly adults: A prospective cohort study

Yi SW, et al. - The goal of this investigation was to determine the link between total cholesterol (TC) and mortality from total stroke and stroke subtypes. Findings revealed that in the elderly and middle-aged adults, TC level around 200 mg/dL was related to the lowest risk of overall stroke. There was no inverse association of any of stroke subtypes, including intracerebral hemorrhage, with TC in the range ≥200 mg/dL.
