Toll-like receptor variants and cervical Atopobium vaginae infection in women with pelvic inflammatory disease

Taylor BD, et al. - Researchers undertook this research to investigate if there exists any association between toll-like (TLR) variants and fastidious bacterial vaginosis (BV)-associated microbes that are linked with infertility following pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Findings revealed a modest association of host gene variants in TLR2 signaling pathways with cervical A. vaginae in women with clinical PID.
