Tolerance of latissimus dorsi in immediate breast reconstruction without implant to radiotherapy

Berthet G, et al. – Researchers here assessed tolerance and aesthetic results and satisfaction, as reported by patients who underwent immediate breast reconstruction (IBR) by latissimus dorsi flap (LDF) with or without subsequent radiotherapy. Excellent tolerance to subsequent radiotherapy was observed among patients who underwent IBR by LDF, the latter had no impact on patient aesthetic satisfaction. the results indicated that the possibility of postoperative radiotherapy should not prevent physicians from proposing this method to women who are candidates for it.
