Tobacco smoking and survival after a prostate cancer diagnosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Cancer Treatment Reviews Jul 09, 2018
Darcey E, et al. - Researchers explored the associations of overall mortality (OM), prostate cancer-specific (PSM) mortality and recurrence with tobacco smoking after a prostate cancer diagnosis through a systematic review and meta-analysis. They searched EMBASE and ISI Web of Science for English-language studies that conducted a survival analysis to estimate the relationship between tobacco smoking and OM, PSM and/or recurrence published up to August 17, 2017. It was observed that tobacco smoking at prostate cancer diagnosis was linked with a significantly increased risk of overall mortality, prostate-cancer specific mortality and recurrence.
