Thereaux J, et al. - In patients undergoing bariatric surgery (BS), researchers determined the incidence, risk factors, and the impact of posthospital discharge (PHD) chemoprophylaxis on venous thromboembolism (VTE). Depending on the individual risk level, the patients showed a non-negligible rate of VTE. It was particularly evident after sleeve gastrectomy. They suggested using PHD chemoprophylaxis for decreasing the risk of PHD VTE.
