Morneau K, et al. - This study investigated the impact of time to appropriate antibiotics on in-hospital mortality and hospital length of stay in adult cancer patients presenting to the emergency department with sepsis without hypotension. Findings demonstrated an association between time to appropriate antibiotics and in-hospital mortality in this patient population and therefore, timely administration of a complete and appropriate empiric antibiotic regimen is essential in such cases.
