Timing of vitrectomy for retained lens fragments after cataract surgery
International Ophthalmology Oct 01, 2017
Peck T, et al. - The consequences of early (less than 7 inter-operative days) versus late (7 or greater inter-operative days) vitrectomy underwent exploratory analysis, in patients with retained lens fragments in the posterior segment following cataract surgery. Similar clinical outcomes were discovered in patients undergoing early and late vitrectomy. Patients with poorer baseline visual acuity exhibited a greater tendency to receive early vitrectomy. There appeared to be worse final visual acuity in patients with a baseline diagnosis of diabetes and in those who experienced post-operative complications.
