Timing of venous thromboembolism chemoprophylaxis after traumatic brain injury
Journal of Critical Care Aug 19, 2017
Strollo BP, et al. – Researchers performed a survey among the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) members to analyze current practice about the timing of introducing venous thromboembolism (VTE) chemoprophylaxis after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Findings reported a wide variability in the practice patterns regarding the timing of VTE chemoprophylaxis in TBI among EAST members. This work strengthens the need for further investigation to guide clinical practice of VTE chemoprophylaxis in TBI patients.
