Time from injury to surgical fixation of diaphyseal humerus fractures is not associated with an increased risk of iatrogenic radial nerve palsy
Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma Sep 14, 2017
Shoji K, et al. - This retrospective review investigated the possible association of time from injury to fixation of diaphyseal humeral fractures and nonunions with the risk of iatrogenic radial nerve palsy. Time from injury to fixation of diaphyseal humeral fractures did not seem to confer risk for iatrogenic radial nerve palsy development. Rather, the risk of iatrogenic radial nerve palsy was found to be increased in patients with distal fractures, and those with previous fracture implants.
