Time-dependent differences in cortical measures and their associations with behavioral measures following mild traumatic brain injury
Human Brain Mapping Apr 30, 2018
Bajaj S, et al. - Authors sought to compare differences in brain structure, specifically cortical thickness (CT), cortical volume (CV), and cortical surface area (CSA) in individuals who sustained a recent mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and healthy controls (HCs). Findings disclosed that alterations in CT and associated neuropsychological assessments could be more prominent during the early stages of mTBI. During the chronic stages of mTBI, nevertheless, alterations in CSA could depict compensatory structural recovery.
