Time between anterior cruciate ligament injury and reconstruction and cartilage metabolism six-months following reconstruction
The Knee Mar 12, 2018
Davis HC, et al. - This trial was conducted to determine the relationship between time from injury to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (TimeInjury–ACLR) and biochemical markers of cartilage metabolism and inflammation 6 months after ACL reconstruction (ACLR). In males but not females, greater time between injury and ACL reconstruction was noted to be related to greater serum C2C:CPII six months following ACLR. In addition, IL-6, MMP-3, and ARGS levels were not related to TimeInjury–ACLR in males or females. In males, collagen metabolism could be affected by the time between ACL injury and ACLR.
