Tibial component migration following total knee arthroplasty with high viscosity bone cement
Journal of Arthroplasty Feb 09, 2021
Laende EK, Richardson CG, Meldrum A, et al. - A radio stereometric analysis (RSA) following total knee arthroplasty was performed to evaluate the migration of the Triathlon tibial component fixed with high viscosity (HV) cement (Simplex HV). In this study, 23 individuals were followed for two years with RSA exams at 6 visits. Researchers evaluated inducible displacement and recorded Oxford 12 Knee scores and satisfaction. The results displayed that at 2 years, the use of HV cement indicated an acceptable pattern of migration, demonstrating a low risk for aseptic loosening.
