Clinical and Experimental Dermatology Jun 03, 2018
Miller IM, et al. - Researchers gauged the thyroid function in individuals with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) vs healthy controls (HCs). They conducted a retrospective comparative cross-sectional study using blood samples and questionnaire-based self-reported information to evaluate thyroid function. Findings suggested an association of HS with hyperthyroidism. An altered or dysfunctional metabolism could be indicated with hyperthyroidism. A significant association between clinical hyperthyroidism and HS was demonstrated by the age/sex-adjusted analysis.
