Three-year outcomes of the prospective, randomized controlled Rezum System study: Convective radiofrequency thermal therapy for treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia
Urology Nov 10, 2017
McVary KT, et al. - Researchers aspired to report the 3-year outcomes of treatment with convective radiofrequency (RF) water vapor thermal therapy for moderate to severe lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This therapy was an office or ambulatory outpatient procedure, displaying minimal transient perioperative side effects. Early effective and durable relief of BPH symptoms was yielded, with the preservation of sexual function in individuals, followed to 3 years. It appeared to be applicable for the treatment of the median lobe and hyperplastic central zone tissue.
