Three-dimensional radial VIBE sequence for contrast-enhanced brain imaging: An alternative for reducing motion artifacts in restless children
American Journal of Roentgenology Feb 23, 2018
Park JE, et al. - The utility of radially sampled 3D fat-suppressed T1-weighted gradient-echo sequences (radial volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination [radial VIBE]) for contrast-enhanced brain MRI of children compared with a magnetization-prepared rapid-acquisition gradient-echo (MP-RAGE) sequence was determined. Images obtained with the radial VIBE sequence presented with fewer motion and pulsation artifacts than those obtained with the MP-RAGE sequence. With respect to contrast-enhanced brain imaging of restless children, a radial fat-suppressed T1-weighted gradient-echo sequence was shown to be a viable alternative to conventional cartesian acquisition.
