Three-dimensional analysis of regional right ventricular shape and function in repaired tetralogy of Fallot using cardiovascular magnetic resonance
Clinical Imaging Jul 12, 2018
Zaidi SJ, et al. - Researchers for the first time comprehensively describe the influence of transannular patch (TAP) on changes in regional right ventricular (RV) shape in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF). In the present study, they tested the premise that 3D analysis of RV shape and function may reveal differences in regional adaptive remodeling that occurs in patients with rTOF, depending on whether a TAP was utilized. In patients with repaired TOF with and without transannular patch, three-dimensional (3D) analysis of right ventricular shape and function showed differences in regional adaptive remodeling. In rTOF patients, understanding these differences might help guide therapeutic options for residual pulmonary valve regurgitation.
