Thinning of inner retinal layers after vitrectomy with silicone oil versus gas endotamponade in eyes with macula-off retinal detachment
Ophthalmologica Aug 12, 2017
Purtskhvanidze K, et al. – This study dealt with the assessment of retinal layer thickness with optical coherence tomography (OCT), in eyes with macula–off retinal detachment after silicone oil (SiO) or gas endotamponade. The findings revealed that inner retinal layers in the fovea/parafovea were markedly thinner in the SiO group. The elucidation of possible retinal adverse effects of SiO tamponade required advanced research.
