The YB-1: Notch-3 axis modulates immune cell responses and organ damage in systemic lupus erythematosus
Kidney International Dec 05, 2019
Breitkopf DM, Jankowski V, Ohl K, et al. - Since Notch-3 signaling induced by membrane-bound or soluble ligands like YB-1 establishes an evolutionarily conserved pathway that ascertains major decisions in cell fate, thus, in this study, researchers hypothesized that the YB-1: Notch-3 axis accentuates immune cell responses and organ damage in SLE. Results intimated that the YB-1: Notch-3 axis exerts shielding influences in SLE and that Notch-3 deficiency worsens the SLE phenotype.
