Campitelli MA, et al. – Researchers sought to determine the disparities in statin use among nursing home residents and prescribing physicians. They also analyzed statin use by resident frailty. Findings reported a substantial statin prescribing within nursing homes, even among frail residents. Data also highlighted a significant variation in the likelihood of statin prescribing across physicians, after controlling for resident characteristics.
