The value of quality-assured magnetic resonance imaging of the breast for the early detection of breast cancer in asymptomatic women

Fischer U, et al. - In a population of asymptomatic women, researchers evaluated the exclusive performance of quality-assured high-resolution breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for early detection of breast cancer. Findings suggested that with a high sensitivity and specificity, the exclusive use of quality-assured breast MRI allowed the early detection of breast cancer. The computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD) analysis of MRI did not yield additional information, however, showed results comparable with digital mammography.
