The value of joint ultrasonography in predicting arthritis in seropositive patients with arthralgia: A prospective cohort study
Arthritis Research & Therapy Dec 25, 2018
van Beers-Tas MH, et al. - Authors investigated 163 cases with clinical arthritis to prognosticate the development of arthritis in seropositive cases with arthralgia using ultrasonography (US) abnormalities estimated with a standard joint protocol. When they excluded metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joints from the US assessment, they observed synovial thickening in seropositive participants with arthralgia with an infrequent appearance of positive power Doppler (PD) signs assigning the US, a helpful tool for subjects at moderate risk of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to identify those at a higher risk of evolving arthritis.
