When they excluded metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joints from the US assessment, they observed synovial thickening in seropositive participants with arthralgia with an infrequent appearance of positive power Doppler (PD) signs assigning the US, a helpful tool for subjects at moderate risk of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to identify those at a higher risk of evolving arthritis.
