de Almeida CC, et al. – In this current study, researchers systematically reviewed the evidence for routine intensive care unit (ICU) admission in patients undergoing intracranial neurosurgical procedures and examined the safety of alternative postoperative pathways. As per findings, routine postoperative ICU admission may not benefit carefully selected patients who have undergone elective intracranial neurosurgical procedures. Additionally, limiting routine ICU admission may result in significant cost savings.
