Szeverenyi C, et al. - In this meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials in orthopedic surgeries, Psychosocial techniques were evaluated for their efficacy in decreasing postoperative pain and improving perioperative clinical care in orthopedic surgery. Psychosocial interventions were noted to provide significant benefits in postoperative pain, perioperative anxiety, and recovery. Findings thereby highlight the value of psychosocial interventions, especially patient education and relaxation techniques, in improving the clinical care.
