The triglyceride-glucose index, an insulin resistance marker in newborns?
European Journal of Pediatrics Mar 30, 2018
Gesteiro E, et al. - The utility of the triglyceride-glucose index (TyG) as a marker of insulin resistance (IR) was investigated by the researchers in singleton, term normoweight and without distress newborns. The inference drawn was that TyG was a suitable tool for detecting IR at birth, justifying the further insulin determination in those neonates. Findings recommended TyG ≥ 7.8 as a cut-off point in neonates.
