The survival impact of surgical therapy in squamous cell carcinoma of the hard palate
The Laryngoscope Feb 21, 2018
Alonso JE, et al. - Using the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) database, experts evaluated the incidence and determinants of survival of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the hard palate (SCCHP). Poor prognosis with advanced stage and a greater prognosis with an early stage was portended by SCCHP which was noted to be a relatively infrequent tumor. It was noted that surgical therapy was an independent predictor of improved overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS). On the other hand, radiation therapy (RT) was found to be related to reduced OS and DSS.
