The status and high risk factors of severe psychological distress in migraine patients during nCOV-2019 outbreak in Southwest China: a cross-sectional study
The Journal of Headache and Pain Aug 16, 2020
Ma M, Fang J, Li C, et al. - Migraineurs were compared with the general population in terms of psychological distress and were then assessed to find possible high-risk factors of severe psychological distress. They included 144 migraineurs from the department of Neurology of West China Hospital and 150 healthy controls age- and gender-matched to migraineurs. Relative to controls, migraineurs showed significantly higher scores on the Kessler 6-item scale used to assess psychological distress, suggesting a higher likelihood of migraineurs to have severe psychological distress vs the general population. Multivariate logistic regression revealed migraine attack frequency in previous 30 days and time spent paying attention to outbreak as significant risk factors for psychological distress in migraineurs.
