The significance of negative lymph nodes in esophageal cancer after curative resection: A retrospective cohort study
Cancer Management and Research Feb 28, 2020
Mo J, et al. - Using two institutions surgical database, researchers sought to analyze the impact of negative lymph nodes (NLNs) count on prognosis in esophageal cancer (EC). The sample consisted of 768 EC patients treated by surgical resection between January 2010 and December 2012. In order to determine the significant prognostic elements, the Cox regression model was conducted. Multivariate regression analysis showed that the NLNs count was an independent prognostic factor. According to this retrospective study, a higher number of NLNs is independently linked to better overall survival after surgical resection in EC patients.
