The role of vitamin D receptor polymorphisms in predicting response to therapy in nonmuscle invasive bladder carcinoma
The Journal of Urology Jun 06, 2018
Wang Z, et al. - Experts evaluated 3 vitamin D receptor (VDR) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and their predictive role in response to immunotherapy in nonmuscle invasive bladder carcinoma. They recruited the intermediate-high risk bladder cancer patients who underwent post-transurethral resection intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) in Singapore and Hong Kong from 1995 to 2014. Data demonstrated an association of various VDR SNPs with recurrences after BCG immunotherapy. Compared to patients with other subhaplotypes, patients with subhaplotype of VDR GATC were 3.05 times more likely to have recurrences.
