Mujagic E, et al. - Authors here assessed the association between preoperative biochemical markers and the risk of surgical site infection (SSI). Findings suggested generally not delaying elective surgery based on preoperative blood results. However, they suggest considering it in situations with potentially severe sequelae of SSI.
