The role of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-lymphocyte ratio, and platelets in the prognosis of metastatic renal cell carcinoma
Oncology May 07, 2019
Huszno J, et al. - Researchers assessed the prognostic value of platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelets (PLT), and neutrophil level in 141 patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma studied in this retrospective review. With the Cox proportional hazards regression model, they carried out univariate and multivariate analyses. In these patients, shorter OS and PFS were observed in relation to elevated pretreatment NLR, PLR, PLT, and neutrophil count. NLR and PLR were identified as independent prognostic factors for OS. However, independent prognostic factors for PFS were PLR and neutrophil count.
