The role of nailfold capillary dropout on mortality in systemic sclerosis
Internal Medicine Journal Jan 30, 2018
Tieu J, et al. - The goal of this trial was to assess the possible utility of nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) in predicting the survival of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). It was illustrated that nailfold capillary drop out was prominently correlated with mortality. The severity of drop out attenuated the survival dictated by antibody status. Hence, researchers affirmed the proposition that capillary drop out was on the causal pathway between induction of scleroderma-associated autoantibodies and mortality.
