The role of metastatic burden in cytoreductive/consolidative radical cystectomy
World Journal of Urology Nov 28, 2019
Li R, Kukreja JEB, Seif MA, et al. - IRB-approved review of the cystectomy database was done and 43 individuals with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (UC) who underwent cytoreductive/consolidative radical cystectomy (CCRC) were recognized in order to explain the institutional experience with CCRC for metastatic UC and to examine clinicopathologic characteristics prognosticating prolonged cancer-specific survival (CSS) after CCRC. In the setting of metastatic UC, CCRC was concluded as feasible. Longer CSS, compared with those with multiple metastases, was shown by individuals with solitary metastasis, thus, it should take into account the candidates for prospective trials assessing the role of CCRC for metastatic UC.
