The role of lymph node dissection in salvage radical prostatectomy for patients with radiation recurrent prostate cancer
The Prostate Jun 05, 2021
Quhal F, Rajwa P, Mori K, et al. - Researchers investigated how lymph node dissection impacted the results of patients who had salvage radical prostatectomy (SRP). Data were retrospectively studied from radiation-recurrent patients with prostate cancer (PCa) who had SRP from 2000–2016. SRP and pelvic lymph node dissection was received by about 334 patients. According to findings, an increase in the risk of biochemical recurrence (BCR), metastasis and overall mortality was brought about by pathologic lymph node involvement in radiation-recurrent PCa patients receiving SRP. There was a steady reduction in the risk of BCR in relation to a higher number of removed lymph nodes during SRP.
