The role of hyperbaric oxygen as salvage therapy for sudden sensorineural hearing loss
Annals of Allergy, Rhinology, & Laryngology Jul 20, 2018
Almosnino G, et al. - Authors assessed the hearing outcomes after salvage therapy with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) for the treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). Hearing outcomes were not seen to be significantly different between patients receiving salvage therapy with HBO2 and intratympanic (IT) steroids compared to patients receiving IT steroids alone. Age, gender, form of initial treatment, or pre-treatment pure tone average (PTA) and word recognition score (WRS) did not significantly affect PTA and WRS change scores.
