The role of FDG-PET in detecting rejection after liver transplantation
Surgery May 24, 2018
Watson AM, et al. - Researchers ascertained the effectiveness of fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography in detecting acute cellular rejection after liver transplantation in the clinical setting. Eighty eight orthotopic liver transplant patients underwent fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography at 7 and 17 days postoperatively (first positron emission tomography and second positron emission tomography, respectively). Findings revealed an association of increased signal on fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography over baseline with acute cellular rejection in liver transplant recipients.
