The Laryngoscope Dec 02, 2017
Sangal NR, et al. - This research was conducted in order to determine if elective neck dissection (END) improved the survival in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary sinus (MS-SCC). An improvement was gained in the disease-specific survival through END, in patients with MS-SCC size > 4 cm and advanced T-stage (American Joint Committee on Cancer AJCC TIII). Hence, surgeons performing maxillectomies were recommended to regard performing an END concurrent with maxillectomy for those with size > 4 cm advanced stage cancer.
