Agarwal P, et al. – The intent of this study was to examine the sensitivities of DNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR), culture, and histopathology for the diagnosis of cutaneous tuberculosis (TB) in clinically suspected skin lesions. DNA PCR and culture were to be recommended in cases of cutaneous TB with inconclusive histopathology. DNA PCR ought to be taken into account in preference over culture if facilities were available as it yielded rapid results and reported a higher sensitivity.
