BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth May 04, 2021
Zhou S, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective study to evaluate the independent risk factors of hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy (HDCP) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in order to provide clinical evidence for PCOS management. From June 1, 2018, to November 30, 2020, pregnant PCOS patients treated in the hospital were approached. In total, 188 PCOS patients were involved, the incidence of HDCP in patients with PCOS was 27.66 %. Age ≥ 27y, BMI ≥ 24 kg/m 2, family history of hypertension, the history of adverse pregnancy, history of contraceptive pills use, family history of HDCP were the independent risk factors of HDCP in PCOS patients. In PCOS patients, the prevalence of HDCP is relatively high. Early prevention and intervention measures for these risk factors should be implemented in clinical practice to reduce the incidence of HDCP.
